The 54th – Hey how are you doing? Tell us a bit about your background, your name, where you are from, where you grew up?

Darlymoore – I’m beautiful.. My name is darlymoore, I’m from Edo state, I grew up in Lagos.

The 54th – What would you say drew you to photography? Like what made you go “I love this craft, I would love to learn it”

Darlymoore – Well.. I think it was the moment I held a professional camera in my hands way back 2012 and took some shots with, I became fascinated and wanted to do more.

The 54th – How would you characterize your niche in photography?

Darlymoore – To be honest, I’m still finding that niche so I’m just being open minded to images I can create though I love portrait a lot and lots of dramatic lighting too lol..

The 54th – What would you say INSPIRES your creativity and your style? Is it sparked by life events or it’s just a vibe you have to get into?

Darlymoore – I think it’s a bit of everything you mentioned cos sometimes I look at how the society or my environment is or I get inspiration from other creatives work and add my own feel or ideas to make it kind of different and sometimes I might just get a vibe for something and want to actually create it.

The 54th – Does music have an important role to play when you are shooting? Does it help in getting your models to show the emotions you are looking for?

Darlymoore – Music is important when I’m shooting and I mean very vital cos I tend to always use it to set the mood for my models or clients, so they can always vibe to them and bring out themselves and shy away from my lenses, lol.

The 54th – To achieve your tones and color grading, when taking the pictures do you temper with the lighting so when editing you would be able to achieve your desired grading?

Darlymoore – Oh yes.. lighting is quite important in getting your desired color grading though you can decided to light differently and still color grade differently but personally I like to make sure my lighting helps with my achieving my desired color grading.

The 54th – What does your work as a photographer try to explore?

Darlymoore – The beauty of art and people in still images.

The 54th – How are you carving out your own path in the creative industry? How do you ensure to be different and to be able to stand out?

Darlymoore – I just keep working and putting my work out there for people to see and build a portfolio that can easily sell me to any potential client or brands. Like I said earlier, I don’t have a particular niche that might make me stand out but I’m constantly working to build that and eventually soon I’ll create that but for now I’m just doing what I can do best….For Art.

The 54th – What skills did you have to improve and develop during your photography journey?

Darlymoore – A whole lot of skills.. lighting, retouching, posing, composition and still a lot more I’m working on.. lol

The 54th – When you started, what was your first camera/gear? Did you start big or did you start small then you gradually climbed the ladder?

Darlymoore – My first camera gear was a Nikon D7200 and I loved the camera so much and a speedlight forgotten the brand but those were my first.

The 54th – As a creative and photographer, are there photographers or creatives who has greatly influenced you and your work?

Darlymoore – Oh yes there are a bunch of them, starting from Trans4maz Fotography, Emmanuel Oyeleke, Prince Meyson, Tosin junaid, Amazing Klef and lex ash these are just a few.

The 54th – What obstacles do you face as a photographer in your country?

Darlymoore – I’ll say the economy generally and especially the Inflation in prices of almost everything which is making photography equipments more expensive to buy.

The 54th – With how everyday there’s a new trend and technology, how do you ensure that you stay in the trend? Do you try to keep up with it? Or you try to stay away from trends?

Darlymoore – I always try to keep up with the trend cause the truth is – the world is changing fast and technology is not slowing down for anyone, so I have to evolve too otherwise I’ll be left behind.

The 54th – What was the spark or push that made you say you want to pursue photography professionally?

Darlymoore – That was when I had my first photography workshop and heard about how you can make good money from photography and also the joy I felt when I achieve something giving me issues in understanding how the camera works.

The 54th – Do you have any advice for anyone wanting to start out as a photographer or creative?

Darlymoore – Yes I do and I’ll say just keep shooting and alway be eager to learn something new and you’ll get better and better with consistency.
