DAGRI N’ Taye Come Alvares is an African Photographer from the Ivory Coast. He grew up in the city of Bonoua.
Dagri got his love for photography in his first year of college, the spark came when there was a movement of young people who circulated called “SWAG” and his love further deepened when he saw the rendering of these photos which got his attention, this was also followed by when he saw how other photographers managed to modify their photos and since that day he got his laptop and started to do the same”.

APH – Did you have it easy when you first started out your photography career?
Dagri – “My career has been 1/2 years now. In the beginning it was a bit difficult seeing that i started with my phone but despite all the difficulties I still continued to photograph with my phone. Most of the things I’ve learned, i learnt from watching YouTube videos. From there i got interested in Outdoor photography but I think that love came because i grew up in a really natural setting so it made more passionate about outdoor photos. Plus I really love nature”.


APH – How did you come up with your brand name?
Dagri – “It’s a simple story actually, Seeing that my loved ones recognize me by my first name and my name, so I just made little adjustmeents and came up with the brand name AlvaresDagri Photography.

APH – These pictures are amazingly beautiful, how do you come up with amazing concept and stories for your pictures, is there a mood you have to be in to achieve your shoot?
Dagri – “hahaha I manage to achieve them thanks to the type of models and also my the love of nature. As for my mood I can say it depends on if the weather is really good”.

APH – Do you own a studio?
Dagri – “No I don’t own a studio yet, I have just my camera as my most priced possession”.
APH – Do you travel a lot because of work?
Dagri – “I haven’t made a trip yet. I have just made little trips around my community at the moment , but I know that one day God will give me grace”.

APH – Do you have any influences? By that i mean do you have any artists, photographers, and people etc. that have really made an impact on your work?
Dagri – “Oh Yes yes, few photographers today have made huge impact on my work and art”

APH – Do you have any bad experience or awesome moments you would love to share throughout your years as a photographer
Dagri – “Yes I have had a few Bad experiences”

APH – Do you ever get insecured or not satisfied with a particular shoot you just did ?
Dagri – “No no I don’t actually”

APH – Is there something you really want to achieve in the world of photography?
Dagri – “ Yes in my country I would love to set up an art background”.

APH – Do you ever turn down jobs? If yes, why?
Dagri – Yes yes I have turned down job especially from people who wanted me to work for them reason is I want to be my own boss”.

APH – So far has it been easy being a photographer in your country?
Dagri – “No it has not been easy because people do not know the value of photography in this part of the world”

APH – Do you have an advice to any one starting out as a photographer
Dagri – “A word of advice, you should always continue to work, to analyze and to make research about being a photographer because the photography is not just about grabbing a camera to take captures images, it is much more than that”.
